Article 1 The Kinmen County Government (hereinafter referred to as KCG) enacts the Ordinance for the purposes of strengthening communication between the police and the medical society and facilitating better criminal surveillance.
Article 2 Where the medical institutions and doctors are visited by patients suffering from conditions listed below, aside from handling it in accordance with Article 12 of the Medical Doctor Act, nearby police authorities shall be notified if the patient is suspected to have been involved with an criminal offense:
1. Blade wound
2. Gun wound
3. Explosives wound
4. Drug wound
5. Machinery or other objects wound
6. Oral poisoning
7. Suicide
8. Wound from other causes that leads to sickness
Article 3 Where, upon inspection of a corpse or a deceased new born, the doctor suspects of a homicide or is approached and asked to give false diagnostic report, the nearby police authority shall be notified immediately.
Article 4 Where the medical institutions and doctors report on patients with dubious injuries and hence solve a major criminal case or renders a distinctive contribution to social security, the county’s Police Bureau shall provide the facts and ask the Public Health Bureau of KCG to grant an reward.
Article 5 In the event of violations of Article 2 and Article 3 of the Ordinance by medical institutions or doctors and being reported by general public to the police authority and proved to be accurate, a penalty more than NT$6000 and less than NT$30000 shall be fined by the Public Health Bureau of KCG unless otherwise stipulated in laws.
Article 7 The Ordinance shall take effect as of the date of promulgation.
